This tarot cloth was created for Her Ocean 她海, my original brand project. The design is inspired by two seemingly opposite symbols: the octopus and the unicorn. The octopus, drawn from the dark mysticism of Lovecraftian mythology, represents the subconscious, chaos, and instinct. In contrast, the unicorn symbolises purity, fantasy, and idealism. By bringing them together on the same visual field, I aimed to create a sense of uncanny harmony—a tension between softness and rebellion, clarity and mystery.
Woven from high-density chenille yarn and metallic gold thread, the cloth is crafted using a double-sided jacquard technique:
The black side features plush chenille with subtle golden accents, evoking the quiet depth of night rituals.
The white side incorporates shimmering gold threads woven directly into the fabric, revealing star-like flashes under light—like a meditative morning space.
“Her Ocean” is an original brand that focuses on soft objects and a mysterious aesthetic. Its main creations include tarot cloths, wall tapestries, and scarves—everyday items centered around visual storytelling.
